Meditations

Hi,
For me it is hard to just pick two practices because they all were and are very beneficial to me. I have used meditation for a long time and I am always looking for different ones to use. Loving Kindness was wonderful because it gave me the opportunity to give back to people that I did not know as well as people that I do know. It taught me how to send out love and kindness to the world without any personal connection. I was able to let go of situations that had bothered me in the past with people without having to talk to them or reason with them. This was very healing for me. The Subtle mind meditation taught me how to just watch my thoughts flow through my mind without getting caught in them or giving power to them. This was also healing for me. We all get caught in our thoughts and if we don’t know how to let go we become them like a broken record that just keeps spinning. Visualization is very powerful when meditating because it gives us the opportunity to see things the way we need to as well as should. It gives us direction. I am a visual person so to do this type of meditation is great for me. I have a focus point to watch and this helps me stay present. I will use all of them because it helps me to stay balanced, happy, peaceful, loving and grateful. It gives me a sense of being connected to my higher self (true essences). I have loved what this class has taught me as well as how it has reminded me of who and what I truly am. A spiritual being having a human experience!
Love, Light and Blessings to All,

Barbara

  1. Hello Barbara

I think you've done very well so far with these exercises. It's not easy to learn and you definitely have to have an open mind or they won't work at all. Yoga can be very difficult. The positions are a bit strange, even for beginners. You could try some stretching exercises as you work on your breathing techniques. Our one exercise had us do something similar to that, I think we were lifting our arm to show how relaxed we were. Listening to music can also be relaxing. The music I listen to often reflects how I am feeling and if I feel stressed of off balance, I know just which songs to play. Another way to relax is to visualize a happy time. I often take my 'mini trips' or I think of my time in New York with my best friend. Those wonderful memories always relax me.

Keep up the good work and I know you'll achieve any goals you set your mind to.

    1. Hi Jermaine, I like how you visualize a happy time. This is so important for all of us, the only thing we need to do is just remember that we can take our selves there if we just close our eyes and go back to that time of happiness. I find this to be fun and very healing. May you always remember to take these trips when ever you feel the need or just want to smile inside.

Love, Light and Blessing to you always

  2. Hi Barbara,

You are so right when you say that all these practices are great and beneficial. I too enjoy meditation and each of these practices. Isn't it good to be able to go through situations that use to bother you and be at peace? I know what you mean when you say our thoughts can be like a broken record. Meditation fixes that. I'm glad to see you know what it takes to have a peaceful mind. It is so important to our health. "A spiritual being having a human experience!", I like that phrase. I wish you well with your continued success beyond this course.

  3. Hi Barbara! I love your approach to all the different exercises and your ability to see the different positives for all of the different practices. I thought it was a really powerful visualization when you stated that getting caught in our thoughts was like going around and around like a spinning record. I’ve definitely been there before… It’s a hard cycle to break but definitely possible one we can identify it and take positive action to change. I enjoyed reading your post!
